The 2018 Poethique Gift Guide and Wish List

December is holiday shopping season in a large part of the world. Like everyone else caught up in holiday fever, the team here at Poethique looks forward to buying gifts for those we love most. Yes, we’ve get caught up in whether we’re getting the perfect gift for everyone on our list, but we’ve also got some trusty favorites that we know are going to be winners!

The team started chatting about our 2018 wish list and had so much fun with it, we decided to share it with you!

Gayatri’s Pick: Experiences and Education

“As a working mother of two, with a thriving community of friends and family, I find I have to pick through a broad range of likes, and ages, and life stages, to find something for everyone. For family and close friends, I prefer gifting experiences. A day at the spa (my local favorites are Joy Skin Atelier and 1 on 1 Indulgence), or gift cards to restaurants I know they will enjoy are tops! For the kids, I’m the geeky aunt that gets them books (or gift cards to a bookstore for the older kids!) or an educational toy. I’m passionate about education so anything that expands their world view or skills is a winner.

And of course, for the lovely ladies in my life that enjoy skincare, I’ll make some fun custom presents with the ingredients in our lab. It’s special because they won’t get it anywhere and it’s customized just for them!”

Elena’s Pick: A Day at the Spa

“It’s all about spa experiences for me. Massages, facials, body wraps at a day spa with amazing facilities where you can spend the day is the best! I’m essentially gifting (or getting!) a day of wellness and pampering, and who wouldn’t enjoy being indulged like that!

For the men in my life, I buy them nice Italian socks - the kind made of cashmere and all things soft, that I know they wouldn’t buy for themselves, but would totally enjoy once they have them!”

Kelsey’s Pick: Hygge Central

“I like to create cozy spaces that ooze intimacy and warmth. Candles and essential oil diffusers are top of the list for me, as they’re an easy way to help someone create that special space, no matter how large or small their nook. Another easy but beautiful gifting solution is make-up. I love the vegan and cruelty-free products from Beauty Bakerie, especially their matte lip whips!”

Cynthia’s Pick: Time-saving Tools

“I have a 2 year old, work full time and a husband who’s on the road a LOT. In my world, anything that saves me some time is a miracle gift. My top favourites are robot cleaners like Roomba, which clean while nobody is home. I actually bought one for my grandma and she LOVES it. She's been bragging about it with all her friends haha!

A kitchen based tool like a bread maker is fantastic as well. There’s nothing better than the smell of freshly baked homemade bread.. and even better made to your taste, and with ingredients you know. And of course, if you toss in a Foot Massager/Spa, that’s just the icing on the cake - because relaxation is important, and you can do this while the robot cleaner is doing its job and the bread is baking ;) “
